New Store Hours for Our South King Location Starting in October, 2024

As highlighted in the article from August 2nd, 2024, where we addressed the evolving challenges in the South King neighborhood, we have been closely monitoring the rising safety concerns, especially in the late afternoon. Over the past four months, we've conducted customer surveys and analyzed demand and behavior to identify the best store hours that will enable us to serve you efficiently while prioritizing the safety of our employees.

After thoughtful deliberation, we have decided to adjust our store hours to better align with the current environment and to ensure the safety and well-being of our team while continuing to serve our valued community. With all that said, starting in October 7th, the store hours for our South King location will be changing to below:

New Store Hours Starting in October 7th, 2024:

• Monday-Friday: 6:30am-2:30pm

• Saturday: 6:30am-6:30pm

• Sunday: CLOSED

Unfortunately, our South King location has seen an increase in homeless encampments in the surrounding area, leading to more frequent interactions between our staff and some of these individuals. While we remain committed to being a positive part of our community, the safety of our employees is our top priority. We've had instances where these interactions have posed risks to our team, particularly in the late afternoon and evening hours. After careful consideration and in response to these concerns, we've decided to adjust our store hours to ensure a safer working environment for everyone, and with these changes, we anticipate some questions and concerns.

Here’s how we’re addressing them:

Can I still pick up my cakes in the late afternoon?

• For late afternoon cake pickups on weekdays, our Kamehameha location will maintain its current hours. Please let us know if you'd like to pick up your cake there. On Saturdays, our South King location will remain open until 6:30pm for your convenience.

  
  

I usually stop by the store after work in the evening to pre-order my cakes. How can I do this now?

• Our Online Cake Ordering system will be launching soon. Subscribe to our newsletter to stay informed about when this option will be available. Plus, our phone order options will still be available if you cannot physically stop by our stores.

  
  

With the new hours, I anticipate there will be a rush in the morning for daily breads. How can I ensure I get my favorites?

• We will be increasing our daily bread quantities to ensure that you can still enjoy your favorite breads during the updated hours.
