After a two-year break, we’re thrilled to announce the return of Honu Bakery’s Kabocha Pumpkin Pie just in time for Thanksgiving! This beloved pie was a seasonal favorite alongside our iconic Turtle Bread, and we’re excited to bring it back for our loyal customers who have been asking us to revive this special treat.
Our Kabocha Pumpkin Pie is crafted with 100% pure kabocha pumpkin—no canned goods, no mix-ins, and no funny business. Every bit of filling is carefully hand-prepped, giving it a fresh, rich flavor that you won’t find in ordinary pumpkin pies. The pie is enveloped in a flaky puff pastry crust, both top and bottom, and finished with a touch of sweet apricot jam. It’s a combination that’s warm, comforting, and perfect for Thanksgiving gatherings.
Why the Two-Year Break?
With COVID challenges and the transition to new management, we had to put our seasonal Kabocha Pumpkin Pie on hold for the past two years. However, we continued to receive DMs and in-store requests from customers asking us to bring it back. So, we rolled up our sleeves, dug out our old recipe books, sourced premium kabocha pumpkins, and taste-tested to ensure every slice would taste just like the original.
