Cashier/Barista (South King)

Job Description

HONU BAKERY is looking for one cashier to join our team. We are located on 1495 S King St. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, and reliable.

Responsibilities

Processing transactions, handling cash and credit card payments, maintaining accuracy in cash registers, and providing excellent customer service.
Preparing and serving beverages, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar, and providing exceptional customer service.
Securely packaging pastries and baked goods for purchase.
Maintain a well-stocked and attractive bakery display by carefully wrapping, arranging, labeling fresh breads and pastries, rotating stock to ensure freshness, and replenishing empty displays throughout the shift.
Cleaning work areas, shelves, and the restrooms to uphold high hygiene standards.

-Customer Service:

Excellent People Skills: This is essential! Cashiers should be friendly, approachable, and able to build rapport with customers.
Positive and Enthusiastic: A welcoming smile and positive attitude go a long way in creating a pleasant experience for customers.
Patient and Understanding: Customers might have questions or special requests. Patience and a willingness to help are key.
Clear Communication: Being able to clearly communicate information about products, answer questions, and take orders accurately is crucial.

-Efficiency and Accuracy:

Strong Attention to Detail: Cashiers need to be detail-oriented to ensure accurate transactions, proper product handling, and a clean environment.
Time Management Skills: The ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize during busy periods is essential.
Cash Handling Skills: Cashiers need to be comfortable handling cash, making change accurately, and following proper cash handling procedures.

Team Player: Bakery cashiers collaborate with bakers and other staff to ensure smooth operations.
Willingness to Learn: New products, procedures, and regulations might be introduced. A willingness to learn and adapt is important.
